The Bermuda Lacrosse Association will be hosting the bi-annual Tri Nations Lacrosse Double Elimination Tournament on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club’s ‘Sea Breeze Oval’ in Hamilton Parrish.  The first face-off will be at 10am and games are scheduled through the afternoon.   Food and drinks will be available from the Cricket Club and Jamaican Grille.

Come watch the fastest game on two feet as admission is free.  The bi-annual event is quickly becoming the premiere family event for lacrosse in Bermuda.  This will be an opportunity to see the game of lacrosse in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere overlooking beautiful Bailey’s Bay.  The teams will be comprised of members from the Bermuda Lacrosse Association representing their home countries.  Many of these players represented Bermuda at the 2006 World Championships in Ontario, Canada this past summer.

Tournament History:  Held in Bermuda, this will be the fifth Tri Nations tournament.  The tournament is held in the spring and the fall.  The US and Canadian squads have split the four recent championships, but this looks to be Bermuda’s year as they will field their strongest team yet.  Come cheer on Bermuda as they make a name in international lacrosse!

Lacrosse is fast becoming a popular sport in Bermuda with the club becoming an affiliate member of the International Lacrosse Federation.  The club participated in the 2006 ILF World Championships where team Canada defeated the USA for the first time in 20 years and also saw the legendary Gary Gait retire from play.  For those in Bermuda that don’t know Gary, some say that ‘Michael Jordan is the Gary Gait of basketball.’  Club membership is growing at its fastest rate in history and the first indoor Bermuda lacrosse league was established in February, 2007.

Come watch incredible lacrosse action Sunday, March 4 at Bailey’s Bay!
